Summer Programming Assistant
Are you a creative, energetic high school student who enjoys working with children? Looking to gain valuable experience in a fun, community-focused environment this summer? The Penhold & District Library is looking for a Summer Programming Assistant to help bring our TD Summer Reading Program to life!
About the Role
As our Summer Programming Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering engaging activities for children and families throughout the summer. From crafts and games to reading challenges and special events, you’ll help create a welcoming and exciting space that inspires a love of reading and learning.
Responsibilities

Assist with planning and running children’s programs and activities

Help prepare program materials, crafts, and displays

Engage with children and families in a friendly, positive manner

Support daily library operations as needed

Promote the TD Summer Reading Program and encourage participation
What We’re Looking For

A current high school student

Enthusiastic, reliable, and responsible

Enjoys working with children (ages 5–12)

Creative and willing to try new ideas

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Comfortable taking initiative and helping lead activities
